Tony D.'s Professional Wrestling Webpage The Official Website of Tony D.
On my Wrestling Page (you are here) are the Questions For The Pros Interviews that I've conducted. I've got several pages about an Indy Fed that came to town in 1999 called The World Wrestling Alliance. I have a few pages for another Indy Fed that came to town in 2001 called Central State Championship Wrestling. Yet another Indy Fed came to town in 2001 called The Midwest Wrestling Federation. The MWF had several shows that I attended in 2002 and 2003 before they went out of business. Midland Empire Wrestling had two shows in Pittsburg, KS in 2003. MEW has shows in other parts of Kansas and Missouri, but I don't know when they will be back in Pittsburg. Both Universal Championship Wrestling and The Global Wrestling Federation run shows in Pittsburg, Kansas, currently. "Wild" Red Barry would be pleased. Also I have a list of all of the Pro Wrestling Autographs that I have. I have two articles that appeared in the newspaper in 1973 when Wrestling Legend "Wild" Red Berry passed away (Red lived in Pittsburg Kansas for many years). I compiled a list of World Singles Titles that Ric Flair has won, and I count several more than the official reigns. At The Ring Post I write a weekly column (well, hopefully weekly) of Indy News called Indyvelopments and at my website I've created an Indyvelopments Archive. I've written a few articles that I could someday post at TRP to get them more attention. One of them was posted there to get me some feedback. I also wrote an article called Wrestling With OTR about Old Time Radio Shows that mention or feature Professional Wrestlers. I have another article that I wrote on Tag Teams that had names that I really liked, like "The Smooth Criminals" or "The PYT Express" or "The Nation of Penetration." I wrote an article on NWA World Title Defenses in The Central States Area. It was originally posted at The Ring Post. NOTE: Tony D. is NOT A PROFESSIONAL WRESTLER. He has just been a wrestling fan since 1984. I've been watching wrestling since March of 1984. I've got lots of favorites. "Nature Boy" Ric Flair is my favorite wrestler of all time. Current favorites include Rob Van Dam, Simon Diamond and "Mr. Saturday Night" Micheal Barry. I made a list of my Favorite things in wrestling, including favorite Wrestlers, Tag Teams, Females in Wrestling, Wrestling Managers and federations. I'm also wanting to write a few Professional Wrestling Trivia Games in Turbo Pascal 7.0. I'm still writing the questions and answers right now. They will be in Multiple Choice format too, and possibly a True/False game or two as well. Since I'm still coming up with questions and answers at this point, I don't have a CLUE as to how many games I'll write or what they'll cover. I guarantee a game about WCW, The WWF, ECW, a game about the 1980's, and a game about the 1990's. I don't know how soon the programming will start, all I have to do is add the questions and answers into a game that already works, so writing the program will be easy compared to coming up with questions and answers. Does anybody remember a Tag Team called The New Chain Gang? They wrestled in the mid to late 1980's in The Central States Area (I think). I've been trying to remember for a long time who they were. The New Chain Gang were a tag team in The Central States Area in 1986, and they were comprised of Chris Colt and Ed "Moondog" Moretti. Moretti had previously been in "The Success Express" with "Hangman" Bobby Jaggers. Jaggers and Moretti were managed by Slick and they were the last tag team that Slick managed before Slick got "slick" and jumped to The WWF. Chris Colt had originally been in the "Original" Chain Gang with Ronnie Dupree. The promotion got bought out by Jim Crockett, and Crockett pretty much fired the entire roster and brought in his own guys (keeping Rufus R. Jones and "Bulldog" Bob Brown), but Bob Geigel got the Central States area back later in 1986. Norvell Austin? "Hollywood" John Tatum? (The REAL Hollywood, don't let Hulk Hogan fool you) Hollywood John is living in Florida. Francis "Crybaby" Buxton? "Lucious" Mike Lane? Mike Lane is currently wrestling in The Las Vegas area. "Crazy" Luke Graham? Luke Graham is living in Arkansas "Loverboy" Dennis Condrey? Art Crews? Mr. Russell Sapp, Esquire? The Eight Million Dollar Man lives in St. Joseph, Missouri and he is spending your money foolishly. Zan Panzer? The Ripper? I found out at Steve Corino's Website that John Tatum lives in Florida. "Crazy" Luke Graham (Sr.) came out of retirement in 2000 to team with "Crazy" Luke Graham, Jr. They wrestled in NWA Georgia and in Missouri among other places. I've also been in touch with Art Crews via e-mail. To found out Whatever Happened to Art Crews, click here. In the Mid-South area in 1985, General Skandor Akbar managed a tag team called "The Guardians of The Gates Of Hell." They were (Nord) The Barbarian and Lord Humongous. At the time, there were two Barbarians, one was known as Konga The Barbarian (he used to be King Konga, and later The Barbarian in WCW). The other Barbarian was known as Nord The Barbarian, otherwise known as John Nord (The Berserker and later The Viking). I know that Sid Vicious was a Lord Humongous, but Sid was not the the Lord Humongous in 1985 in Mid-South and neither of them were the first Lord Humongous in 1984 in Memphis.
Did Harvey Wippleman say "Like Mama say, it be's that way sometimes" in the WWF? When he was Downtown Bruno in the Central States area, that was his catch-phrase, or am I in the wrong federation? Who were all the members of The Cartel in the early days of the Global Wrestling Federation? Cactus Jack, Scott (Scotty The Body) Anthony "The Palm Beach Heart-Throb" (Raven), "Hustler" Rip Rogers and Makhan Singh were four (but maybe not at the same time). Back in 1984, the Mid-Atlantic and Georgia (WCW) areas of the NWA, and the Mid-Southern area (of the AWA) agreed on some kind of talent exchange program. They played a videotape from Jimmy Hart. Jimmy was gonna bring his stable from the Mid-Southern area to the Georgia area. In the video he mentioned each wrestler or tag team in his stable, and each wrestler/team was shown, with music playing (like a video). I seem to remember 7 clips, either 3 singles wrestlers and 4 tag teams, or vice versa. Jimmy announced the name of each wrestler/team, and the "video" was shown. I remember these three. Eddie Gilbert: "Hot Stuff" By Donna Summer Rick Rude: "Everybody Wants You" By Billy Squire Dirty White Boys: "Dirty White Boy" By Foreigner King Kong Bundy and The Nightmares were also featured, but I don't know what songs they had. The songs "Hotter Than Hell" and "War Machine" By KISS were both used, but I don't know for which wrestlers. Also, I read some wrestling mags that I have from back then, and Jimmy Hart managed The Terminators around this time, but I don't remember if they were part of this video or not. The Bruise Brothers may have been managed by Hart around this time as well and maybe featured in this video package. Anybody know who the other wrestlers/teams were in this video that was shown on TBS? Back in the NWA in the 1980's, was there a Tag Team from the future? I seem to remember such a team, and maybe they were The New Breed? If I have my teams mixed up, who were The New Breed? I received an e-mail, and I was right, The New Breed were Chris Champion and Sean Royal, and they WERE a Time-Traveling Tag-Team from the year 2002. Sean was injured in a car accident and that brought an end to the team. Also, someone sent me an e-mail explaining that it wasn't the car accident that brought an end to The New Breed in The NWA. They were supposed to wrestle a team (maybe The Midnight Express) in an "escape-proof" cage match. The New Breed climbed the cage to enter it, which killed the "escape-proof" gimmick right there, and they were fired after that match. Techno Team 2000 was a different tag team, Travis and Troy were in the WWF in the mid 1990's, and Erik Watts was either Travis or Troy. I don't think Techno Team 2000 were a time traveling tag team. Who was The Russian Invader in Mid-South in 1984?
