Saturday, November 23, 2002 (Baby)
National Guard Armory
Pittsburg, Kansas
I should have purchased a new Legal pad before the show, I managed to make due with this one (writing on the back) but I’ll have to get another one for the next show, its too unhandy to write this way.
As I type this, it is Sunday, November 24th, the 11 year anniversary of the death of Eric Carr of KISS so I’ll be listening to some CD’s with Eric on them while I type this up.
I got there on November 23rd around 6:50 PM and the doors were already open. The crowd was bigger than the last show, but I didn’t get a head count. Once again The Ratz Nest no showed this event.
Before the show, I got a root beer and pictures of The Punisher, Prometheus and "The Space Cowboy" Jason Jones (I got them all autographed after the show). I spent $20 and got two MWF videotapes, "Fatal 4" from November of 2001 and the MWF show in Jasper, Missouri from March 16, 2002. I haven’t watched them yet but I’ll write reports about the tapes sometime soon.
You can get your own Space Cowboy pictures, t-shirts, foam fingers, bandanas, etc. at his website www.spacecowboywrestling.com.
The show started about 7:30 PM. Bob Burk of KKOW 96.9 FM in the ring to start the show. Bob called out the Commissioner of The MWF, Stephen E. Stephen E. understands why the fans like Bob "He’s stupid and ugly and just like you." Stephen E. is "the best commentator in the business."
Match #1: Da Playboy vs. The Vanilla Thrilla
At 203 pounds, he is 6’ 4", "Da Playboy" Christopher Martinez. His opponent is 170 pounds and from Memphis, Tennessee, soon to be your favorite wrestler, The Vanilla Thrilla. (If I call him "Squirt" or "Squirt McGuirk" that’s because that was his name at the last show). Da Playboy went to give a kid a high five, but Da Playboy pulled his hand back at the last minute. He did the same thing to another fan. Vanilla Thrilla (VT) gave a few high fives and called me by name and gave me one too.
They lock up collar and elbow, VT with a schoolboy for a one count. They circle each other and lock up again, Da Playboy with a headlock. VT pushed off Da Playboy and Playboy with a shoulderblock but VT didn’t go down. They both run to the ropes and meet with a shoulderblock, but neither of them budged. Off the ropes again and VT went down with that shoulderblock. Da Playboy dropped an elbow, but he missed. VT with an armbar and a twist and he’s working on Da Playboy’s arm. VT with a hammerlock but Da Playboy reversed it. VT reversed the hammerlock as well. VT with a headlock with Playboy on the mat. Playboy back up to a vertical base. VT with an Irish Whip and Da Playboy off the ropes with a clothesline. Playboy with an Irish Whip but he missed the clothesline, VT off the ropes with a dropkick. Playboy goes out of the ring to regroup. Playboy gets back in the ring and they lock up and Playboy with an armbar. VT with an armbar of his own and a takedown. They go to lock up again, but Da Playboy caught VT with a kick and a vertical suplex. Playboy goes for another vertical suplex but VT turned it into a pin attempt for a two count. Playboy with an awesome clothesline off the ropes while he does a flip in midair. VT with a headlock takeover and a legdrop. VT does a corkscrew legdrop for a two count. Stephen E. is "the best thing to ever happen to Pittsburg, Kansas since birth control!" Playboy with a chop (Whoo!) and two elbows. Da Playboy with a choke in the corner. Playboy is arguing with the Referee while he is kneeling and using his leg to choke VT. VT manages a pin attempt for a one count. VT with a kneelift and a bodyslam and a two count. Playboy with a hiptoss. Playboy chokes VT again and delivers a few kicks. VT with two chops (Whoo! * two). Playboy with a kick and a powerbomb variation and he goes for the pin and gets a two count. Playboy uses the ropes to choke VT, but Fast Eddie Quick the Referee makes him break (please don’t refer to Fast Eddie as "Opie"). Playboy chokes VT again, Opie makes him break (oops! (-: ). Playboy with a kick that looked low, and a few kicks to the tight of the Vanilla Thrilla. Playboy with some kind of leglock but VT managed to reach the ropes. Playboy with a kick and a spinning toehold, but VT powered out. Playboy goes out of the ring to regroup again, but VT followed him out. Playboy back in the ring, VT followed him in but VT got caught with several kicks. Squirt got Playboy down and Squirt on the ring apron and he missed his over the top rope legdrop from the apron. Playboy with a blatant choke again and Playboy rammed VT into the ring apron. Playboy with a sloppy pin attempt that only got him a two count. Playboy with an Irish Whip and a leg trip (I miss CandySeuss). Playboy tripped VT again and went for the pin, two count only. VT with several punches. VT tried for a vertical suplex, but Playboy’s foot got caught in the ropes (he IS 6’ 4"). VT goes for a vertical suplex, but he dropped Da Playboy on the top rope and Da Playboy is draped precariously on the top rope. VT to the top rope and VT hit a legdrop that knocked Da Playboy off the top rope! VT went for the pin and only got a two count. Irish Whip, Da Playboy with a punch. VT with a powerslam variation for the win.
Winner: The Vanilla Thrilla (soon to be YOUR favorite wrestler!)
Stephen E. (not "Stephanie" you idiots) is back in the ring. He sent Fast Eddie Quick to the corner. Stephen E. says that "Mr. Saturday Night" Micheal Barry will not be here tonight (Sorry ladies! I wonder if any woman wanted her money back since MSN wasn’t there?) Stephen E. says that MSN’s feet hurt so Stephen E. gave him the week off. A fan suggested that Stephen E. give MSN a foot massage. The crowd started a "What?" chant with Stephen E. Stephen E. calls out "The Space Cowboy" Jason Jones. Stephen E. is waiting for JJ’s ring entrance music to hit, but JJ comes out without it. Stephen E. refers to this town as "the scumbag town of Pittsburg, Kansas." JJ challenged Stephen E. to a match. Stephen E. says that JJ will have to take on one of the best cruiserweights in the business, Thomas Thorn!
Thorn makes his way out with his trademark shades and HIS MWF Cruiserweight belt. (Where is "The Master" Johnny Holiday?) Thorn called JJ "Waste of Space Cowboy." Thorn figured out why the fans like JJ, because we can relate to him, because we’re "out of shape and lazy." JJ doesn’t qualify for a shot at the Cruiserweight title. JJ with the mic and he asked Thorn "to ask your Mom if I’m out of shape because I whipped her into shape last night!"
(At this point in the typing of my notes, I had a power failure that only lasted about a minute. I had just saved this document so I don’t think I lost anything. At 6:15 AM, I typed the first page and my computer locked up and I had to reboot, and then I got back to where I could type some more, so I got a page typed and saved it and it seemed to take a long time to save. I ran Scandisk and went in the living room and watched part of the video of the MWF Jasper, Missouri show. Hopefully I won’t have any more mishaps, I’d like to get this posted EARLY!)
Match #2: Twist vs. The Punisher
Bob Burk is back in the ring to make the introductions for the next match. He stands at 6’3" and he is from San Diego, Twist. Twist makes his way to the ring and I hold out my hand for a high five, and acts all glad to see me and he’s about to give me five, but he says "Go to hell" and gets in the ring! His opponent is 5’ 8" and he weighs 185 pounds and he is from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, The Punisher. The Punisher is out with the flag of Puerto Rico and of course he is wearing his mask. Punisher gives me a high five.
They circle each other and the lock up collar and elbow. Twist is all over Punisher with a kneelift, forearm smashes, a few kicks, a vertical suplex and a choke right in front of Fast Eddie. The Punisher goes out after him. They each get back in the ring and they lock up. Bob Burk back in the ring to make introductions. He is 6’ 3" 230 pounds and from Sigma Phi Epsilon, "The Original Frat Boy", Pimptight Kevin Lovejones (The Name Just Says It All). Pimptight has 109 of the world’s 113 known venereal diseases and some day he’ll get the other four too! The song "Whatta Man" by Salt ‘n Pepa plays over the loudspeaker as Pimptight Kevin Lovejones makes his way to the ring. Pimptight shook my hand and broke Kayfabe. (-: Pimptight brought a leather strap with him because he’s the King of The Strap Matches and he also brought a bottle of water. His opponent is 6’5" and from Mount Olympus, he is The American Nightmare, Prometheus. Pimptight gave Stephen E. a hug. Aww! (-: They’ve known each other for four or five years.
Ring the bell and the match begins. They lock up collar and elbow, Pro pushed off Pimptight. Stephen E. said that Pro grabbed Pimptight by the hair. Pimptight goes for the pin and gets a one count. Stephen E. says that this might be the last time that he ever comes into this building. Pro with a Scorpion Deathdrop for a two count. Pimptight is in the corner, and Pro climbs to the second rope and he delivered 10 punches to the head of Pimptight. Pro with an Irish Whip into the corner. Pimptight rammed Pro into the top turnbuckle and Pimptight chokes Pro with his hand and then Pimptight chokes Pro on the ropes. Pro is lying neck first on the ropes and Pimptight runs across the ring and lands on Pro’s back. Pimptight tries for a piledriver near the ropes, but Pro with a backdrop that sent Pimptight over the top rope to the floor!
Pro goes outside and rammed Pimptight into the ring apron. Pro with a headlock and he is trying to ram Pimptight into The Ring Post (dot com) but Pimptight shoved Pro off at the last minute and Pro goes shoulder-first into The Ring Post (dot com). Pimptight takes a drink of water and they both are back in the ring. Irish Whip by Pimptight but it’s reversed by Pro. Pimptight off the ropes and Pro with a belly-to-belly suplex. Pro makes his way to the top rope and here comes Twist with a chair! Twist pushes Pro off the top rope and he goes crashing to the mat 3/4 of the way across the ring! Pimptight with a cobra clutch/bulldog combination for the three count!
Winner: "The Original Frat Boy" Pimptight Kevin Lovejones (The Name Just Says It All)
After the match Twist beats on Pro. Twist with an Irish Whip and Pro manages to hit a reverse neckbreaker. Pimptight is on the floor and Scotty C. had to keep a fan from attacking Pimptight (Pimptight must have had an encounter with that fan’s girlfriend!)
Pro with the microphone and he wants to fight Twist. On December 14, 2002, Pro will face Twist in a Loser Leaves Town match. Stephen E. makes the match, he can do that because he is the Commissioner! Stephen E. says "If you’re not there, you’re a square."
This one fans wants Stephen E. to put his job on the line. The fans want Stephen E. to leave town. Stephen E. acts like he is going to leave and the fans cheer, so Stephen E. decides to stay, so they boo.
Bob Burk is back in the ring to announce that since Outlaw isn’t here, there will be a Battle Royal later in the show and the winner will face "The Next Legend" Logan Moore for the MWF Title tonight in the main event!
Match #4: Battle Royal:
The Punisher, The Vanilla Thrilla, "Space Cowboy" Jason Jones, Thomas Thorn, Prometheus, Twist, Da Playboy and Pimptight all make their way to the ring.
Do you have any idea how hard it is to call the action in a battle royal with pencil and paper? It’s even harder than having to commentate! I like Battle Royal's though, even if there is so much going on that I can't write it all down.
Pimptight is brawling with Space Cowboy (I knew they’d have problems from last week). Vanilla Thrilla is fighting Twist, Prometheus with a belly-to-belly suplex for Da Playboy. Thorn and Twist tried to throw The Punisher over the top rope. Punisher is holding the ropes and he managed to land on the ring apron and roll back in the ring. Pimptight is still fighting The Space Cowboy. Playboy and Vanilla Thrilla exchange chops (Whoo!). Twist is eliminated by Prometheus. The Vanilla Thrilla is thrown over the top rope by Pimptight. Space Cowboy and Pimptight are both on the floor and I didn’t even see how they were eliminated! I bet they kept brawling with each other until they got too near the ropes and their momentum just carried them over. Thorn is taking on Punisher and Da Playboy vs. Prometheus. The Space Cowboy grabbed Pimptight by the head and just rammed him headfirst into the wall! Space Cowboy hit Pimptight in the head with a trash can lid. While this way going on, Thorn and Punisher must have gotten eliminated as well. Playboy kicked Prometheus. Playboy with a vertical suplex and a choke on Prometheus. Playboy with an Irish Whip, but Pro reversed it and hit a clothesline. Playboy with a tilt a whirl headscissors on Prometheus. Playboy rammed Pro into the mat and Playboy with a kneelift. Playboy tried another headscissors but Pro turned it into a belly to back suplex. Prometheus threw Da Playboy over the top rope to win the Battle Royal.
Winner: Prometheus
During the intermission, I get another root beer. I also purchased a picture of "The Next Legend" Logan Moore. We don’t know why The Outlaw isn’t here.
After intermission, Stephen E. with the mic and he says "You people came here to see me." and that we "like him better than we do Bob." Stephen E. asks "Do you like the little nerd boy from KKOW?" and we all cheer.
Match #5: Thomas Thorn vs. "The Space Cowboy" Jason Jones
Bob Burk back in the ring, this match is one fall. First from Twin Peaks, Washington, Thorn. Thorn of course is wearing his black coat, his trademark shades and an MSN t-shirt. If MSN were here tonight he’d say that JJ isn’t from Outer Space, isn’t a Cowboy, and isn’t a Cruiserweight either. His opponent, from the pages of spacecowboywrestling.com, good ole #45, The Space Cowboy, Jason Jones. JJ comes out wearing an AWESOME Space Cowboy robe. Stephen E. with a riddle "What is 600 pounds and has four teeth?" Answer "The Front Row!" (Take that Vic!). Thorn wants Fast Eddie to check out Space Cowboy thoroughly for foreign objects. Space Cowboy is ready to lock up, but Thorn has to tie his shoe, and Stephen E. says something about Thorn having both brawn and brains. They circle each other cautiously, Thorn is hiding behind Fast Eddie Quick. They circle again, JJ backs TT into the corner and a clean break by JJ. Stephen E. says that JJ "is a straight up cheater!" They circle some more and finally lock up again. TT backs JJ into the corner and TT with a punch. Stephen E. says something about "That’s about the cleanest break you’ll get from Thorn." They lock up again and Thorn with an armbar and a twist on the arm and a hammerlock. JJ reversed the hammerlock. Stephen E. points out that Thorn and MSN were the 2001 oldschoolwrestling.com tag team of the year. Thorn has JJ on the mat in an armbar and Thorn has his foot on the rope for more leverage.
Fast Eddie saw Thorn’s foot on the rope and he made Thorn break the armbar. Thorn is choking JJ on the ropes. TT breaks the hold only to do it again and then he distracts Fast Eddie. Stephen E. makes his way from the commentator table to ringside and he gets JJ with a choke and punches! JJ’s throat is draped on the ropes and Thorn runs across the ring and lands on JJ’s back (he could do a bronco buster from that position). TT with a legdrop and several kicks. Thorn rubbed the sole of his boot on JJ’s eyes. Thorn with six punches and an elbowdrop and he goes for the pin for a two count. Thorn with a chinlock, a few forearms and an armbar. The fans are yelling some bad things about Stephen E. and Stephen tells Bob that he wouldn’t take that if the fans were talking about him that way. Bob says that he doesn’t think the fans are talking about him. The fans with a LOUD "Stephanie" chant. Thorn with an Irish Whip but he missed a clothesline but JJ hit a punch. Thorn is lying on the mat holding his head in pain and the Space Cowboy is on his back. Fast Eddie Quick starts counting and they make their way to their feet. JJ with a punch and an Irish Whip that sends Thorn into the corner. Space Cowboy with a Stinger Splash on Thorn! JJ rammed Thorn into the turnbuckle. JJ with two punches and The Bionic Elbow! JJ with two punches and two chops (Whoo! * 2). JJ with an Irish Whip that sends Thorn in the corner, JJ goes for an Irish Whip but Thorn pulls Fast Eddie into the corner and he takes the brunt of it. Pimptight hit the ring and he hit JJ with the combination Cobra Clutch/Bulldog. Pimptight pulled Thorn on top of JJ for the pin and Pimptight got Fast Eddie in position and Eddie made the three count!
Winner: Thomas Thorn
Pimptight has his Leather Strap and Pimptight and Thorn are beating JJ. Thorn gets his Cruiserweight belt and Pimptight and Thorn hold the belt high and leave the ring.
Stephen E. reminds the fans that he is the commissioner. Some fan tells Stephen E. "This is my town, get the hell out." Stephen E. says "If this is your town, that explains all the white trash in the building." Haha.
There’s a girl in the crowd (in a yellow sweater and blue skirt) that yelled at the fan that said it’s his town about him shutting up so the show can continue. Bob Burk is in the ring and he asks us "What was it you were chanting earlier?" so we start up a loud chant of "Stephanie." That one fan called Stephen E. "Stephanie McMahon."
Bob is in the ring to read off the numbers for the raffle. Stephen E. reminds Bob to read the numbers slow, because we’re in Pittsburg!
283076- No one had it
283070- Won a t-shirt
283076- Somehow both sets of tickets got in the sack, so she didn’t win a thing.
283075- I WON THE AUTOGRAPHED FLYER!! (-:
283073- A little kid won an MWF Visor.
Someone yells "Give it up for Bob" and all the fans cheer. "Give it up for Stephen E." and that girl in the skirt and I cheer. Loud "Stephanie" chant from the crowd.
Are you ready for the Main Event?
Match #6: MWF Title Match: "The Next Legend" Logan Moore (Champ) vs. Prometheus
6’5" from Mount Olympus, "The American Nightmare" Prometheus. His opponent is from Kansas City, Missouri, weighing 250 pounds, The MWF Champion "The Next Legend" Logan Moore. The song "I Finally Found My Way" by KISS plays as TNL makes his way to the ring (He needs the KISS CD "Killers" and to use the song "I’m A Legend Tonight" or else I need to use that song in case MSN brings his valets to the next show! (-: "When you reach for the light, I’m a legend tonight"). (MSN would like to point out that TNL is only the Champ until MSN gets a rematch).
Stephen E. hopes that Prometheus and TNL injure each other really bad tonight, because he doesn’t like either of them. Someone yells for Stephen E. to "be quiet" and he replies "I’ll be quiet when you stop being ugly."
MSN and Pro shake hands and they lock up collar-and-elbow. TNL with a headlock, a hammerlock. Pro with a go behind and a takedown. TNL with a hammerlock. Pro reversed it and got a schoolboy rollup for a one count. They circle each other and lock up again. TNL with a hiptoss and another hiptoss. TNL tried another hiptoss but Pro reversed it and hit a hiptoss of his own. TNL with an armdrag and Pro left the ring for a breather and then he gets back in. They lock up and TNL with an Irish Whip and a clothesline. TNL with another Irish Whip and another clothesline. TNL tried for a third clothesline but he missed. Pro with a bodyslam on TNL. Pro with an Irish Whip that sends TNL into the corner. Pro with a running clothesline in the corner. Pro tried to Irish Whip TNL out of the corner, but TNL with a reversal that sends Pro to the opposite corner. TNL with a clothesline of his own. TNL is working on Pro’s leg. TNL tried a headlock, but Pro with a rollup for a two count. Pro with a belly-to-belly suplex for a two count. Pro with a Boston Crab and he grabbed both of TNL’s arms and pulled him off the mat! Pro with an elbowsmash and a pinfall for a two count. TNL with a Russian Legsweep. Both of them are down on the canvas and Fast Eddie is counting them out. 1-2-3-4-5-6 and they’re both back up. Pro missed a clothesline. TNL hit the Legend Maker for the three count.
Winner and still MWF Champion: "The Next Legend" Logan Moore
Da Playboy, Pimptight and Thorn hit the ring to attack both TNL and Pro. It’s a three on two beat down. Space Cowboy and Vanilla Thrilla hit the ring with chairs to chase the heels away. Space and VT check on TNL and Pro to see if they’re okay. The song "Psycho Circus" by KISS plays over the loudspeakers as the faces stand tall in the ring.
That was a great show and after seeing him at three shows, I FINALLY got Thorn’s autograph. I talked to the boys after the show and I got some flyers for the next show that I want to hang up around town, but of course I’m keeping one to get autographs for next time.
The MWF returns to Pittsburg, Kansas at the National Guard Armory on December 14, 2002 (Baby).
"The Next Legend" Logan Moore defends the MWF Title against "Mr. Saturday Night" Micheal Barry. Da Playboy vs. Kong in an Extreme Match. Thorn defends the Cruiserweight Title against Krow, Prometheus vs. Twist in a Loser Leaves Town Match and I know a couple of secrets that I might divulge if I get the green light. "The Space Cowboy" Jason Jones, "Pimptight" Kevin Lovejones, Outlaw and Eddy McMurphy are also scheduled to appear. Remember, the card is subject to change.
I was a *ahem* little disappointed that "Impressive" Anthony Wayne wasn’t there. He did have to wrestle on his birthday so it’s good that he got a day off. Maybe he’ll be back next time? I knew that MSN wouldn’t be there, but the female fans at the show weren’t too happy until they saw Pimptight! (Always put Pimptight over).
