Well, this report was brought to you by the makers of Anbesol and Orajel because I’ve had a toothache for the past few days, but as of Sunday Morning, my tooth feels much better. After seeing Miss Thursday Night, Miss Friday Night and Sunday Nite Special, if this post was brought to you by a number, it would have to be the number 69. (Did Tony D. just say that, tell me he did not just say that).

On Saturday, April 27, 2002 (Baby), The Midwest Wrestling Federation Kansas came to Pittsburg Kansas to the National Guard Armory for their show Evolution. I could count the house at their last show, but I couldn’t count them tonight. I’d say it was pretty close to being sold out though. I had to sit second row because I didn’t to the show in time. I was pleasantly surprised by the crowd.

The Midwest Wrestling Federation came to town last August and since then they have split into three territories: MWF Arkansas, MWF Missouri and MWF Kansas. Tonight we will crown a new MWF Kansas Champion!

At 2 PM, I went to the Armory for the autograph signing/Polaroid thing and I got my picture taken with "Dastardly" Danny Doring, K-Kwik and one picture with Danny, K-Kwik and me. Danny said that I had "the Paul Heyman look." I was wearing a cap and had my hair in a ponytail and I haven’t shaved this week. K-Kwik agreed. We talked for a few minutes about the Indy scene and The WWF the injuries of Scotty 2 Hotty and Lita and other stuff.

The show started with a 10 bell salute to Chief Wahoo McDaniel. (As an aside, I wrote an article about Wahoo McDaniel and a match he had against Ric Flair in May of 1984 over at Kayfabe Memories. Click Here to read about that. Wahoo died on April 18, 2002.)

There’s a group of fans called "The Ratz Nezt" that was at the show, and two of them wear Viking helmets. Romeo Paradise got in the ring and pointed them out and made fun of them. Romeo had a great line about all of the fans, and it was three words, one of which was "redneck." I repeated it to my friend Vic but I didn’t get it written down.

It’s time for PROTOCOL!

There are commentators at ringside that call the action on an open mike. It’s a pretty cool idea (even if they are a bit hard to hear). I was sitting by them. There’s a "face" commentator and a "heel" commentator.

Preshow Match #1: Chip Douglas vs. Jimmy Joe Bob vs. "The Next Legend" Logan Moore.

Romeo Paradise is doing commentary for this match, and because he’s Romeo Paradise, he declared this a "Romeo Rulz" match (since he does rule) and it’s going to be Chip Douglas and Jimmy Joe Bob vs. TNL Logan Moore. Jimmy Joe Bob with a clothesline on Logan Moore. Bob with a bodyslam and Chip Douglas with a legdrop on Logan Moore. They both kick TNL. A fan in a Patriot mask hit the ring! The Fan Patriot is cleaning house. He takes off his mask and... IT’S THE LUNATIC! The Lunatic is back in The MWF for the first time since August. Romeo declares this a tag team match, now it’s...

Chip Douglas and Jimmy Joe Bob vs. "The Next Legend" Logan Moore and The Lunatic.

Lunatic off the ropes and he shoulderblocked Chip. Lunatic with another shoulderblock, and another, and another! Lunatic and Chip Douglas lock up in a test of strength. Chip is losing the test of strength, but he gets the Lunatic in an armbar. Lunatic tagged Logan. Logan Moore armbar on Chip. Chip with his own armbar and a tag to Jimmy Joe Bob. Bob with an armbar on TNL. Logan with an armbar takedown. Logan with a tag and Lunatic kicked Bob in the stomach. Lunatic with an Irish Whip that sent Bob in the corner. Lunatic charges the corner and hits and spins in mid-air to drive into Bob butt-first. Logan with a clothesline on Bob. Bob with a lowblow. We are down to the last two minutes, and Romeo declares the last two minutes anything goes and it’s Texas Tornado style. Logan has Bob in a legscissors and The Lunatic powerbombed Chip and got the three count.

Winners: "The Next Legend" Logan Moore and The Lunatic.

Romeo told Vic to shut up, and I told Vic to shut up too.

Preshow Match #2: Pimptight Kevin Lovejones vs. "The Space Cowboy" Jason Jones.

It’s a "Spotlight Match" with a 10 minute time limit. Kevin Lovejones is "The Original Frat Boy". Jason Jones weighs in at 265 pounds and he is the Vice President of The MWF. I didn’t know this at the time, but Jason Jones is the same "Double J" that was in The WWA in April of 1999. They lock up and The Space Cowboy with a bodyslam on Kevin Lovejones. Lovejones with an armbar and a hammerlock on Jones. Jones reverses the hammerlock and Lovejones reverses the hammerlock too. Lovejones with a headlock on Jones. Jones rakes his nails across the back of Jones. Lovejones with a bearhug on The Space Cowboy. The Space Cowboy with a forearm. One of them comes off the ropes and they clothesline each other. Lovejones with a legdrop on Jones. Lovejones climbed to the second rope. He comes off with another legdrop but The Space Cowboy rolled out of the way. Kevin Lovejones rolls out of the ring and Jason Jones is flapping his arms like a chicken because Lovejones isn’t getting back in the ring. Lovejones back in the ring and they lockup. The Space Cowboy with a sleeper on Kevin Lovejones. The Referee is down. Kevin Lovejones with forearms and punches. Kneelift by Pimptight. The Space Cowboy with a bulldog and he has made the pin but the Ref is still down. Lowblow by Kevin Lovejones and a few punches and an elbowsmash. The Space Cowboy hits the "45 Special" (DDT) for the win. I was talking to Vic during the match, and Romeo Paradise looked at Vic and told him to shut up.

Protocol is over, now it’s time for EVOLUTION

Match #1: Thomas Thorn vs. Krow

210 pounds, Thomas Thorn vs. Krow. Thomas Thorn is accompanied by Michael Barry and three lovely women. Thorn and Krow lock up and Krow is backed into the corner. Punch by Thomas Thorn. Lock up and a hiptoss by Thomas Thorn. They exchanged bodyslams. Thomas Thorn was on the ring apron with his hands on the top rope, and Krow brought Thorn in the ring the hard way. Krow with a heel kick and again and Krow with an armbar. Krow with a headlock on Thorn. Irish Whip by Thomas Thorn and as Krow hits the ropes, Michael Barry tried to trip Krow but he was unable to. Another Irish Whip by Thorn is reversed by Krow and Krow caught him with a spinning kick. They go outside and Krow attacked Michael Barry and then Krow threw Thomas Thorn into The Ring Post (dot com). Thomas is outside the ring with his head near the ropes and Krow with a dropkick in the ring that hit Thomas Thorn. Krow climbed to the top rope and Krow with a flip onto Thorn. Krow with a Gutwrench Salto variation for a 2 count. Krow with a snap mare and with Thorn in a sitting position, Krow jumped over him and grabbed Thorn’s neck and drove him to the mat. Krow with a drop toehold. Krow with a leglock on Thorn, but Michael Barry pulled Thorn to the ropes. Krow with a legbar (like an armbar, only with the leg). Thomas Thorn with a legdrop and a blatant choke! Michael Barry with a punch on Krow. Krow got Thomas Thorn in a sleeper, and Thorn got out of the sleeper and put on one of his own. Krow with a bodyslam. Krow went up to the top rope and missed the Frogsplash. Thomas Thorn with several punches and a spinebuster for a 2 count. Krow with a double underhook DDT for the 3 count.

Winner: Krow

Michael Barry and the ladies join Thomas Moore in the ring. They introduce the women Sunday Nite Special because everyone likes to get closer to God. Miss Friday Night because Friday Night is almost as good as Saturday Night. Miss Thursday Night because Thursday is the day after "Hump Day". One of the girls is wearing a belt, I think that is one of the Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship belts. "Handsome" Brandon Tripod holds the other Cruiserweight Tag Team belt.

Match #2: Big Daddy Dominator vs. Michael Faith

From Death Valley weighing 320 pounds, Big Daddy Dominator. His opponent is Michael Faith. They lock up and reach the ropes and Dominator with a forearm. Dominator with an Irish Whip and an elbowsmash. Dominator with a bodyslam and he gets a two count. Michael with a kick. Michael Faith with another kick, an Irish whip and an overhead belly to belly suplex. Michael Faith goes for the pin, but Dominator got his foot on the rope at the two count. Dominator with a chokeslam and a legdrop and another legdrop for a two count. Dominator with a blatant choke. Dominator with an Irish Whip that sends Michael Faith into the corner. Dominator with a running kneelift. Dominator with an Irish Whip into the other corner. Dominator with a Big Splash. Dominator chokes Michael Faith on the ropes. Michael Faith slipped on the "Goodnight Monroe" sleeperhold (as used by Mike Stone in Bob Geigel’s WWA in the late 1980’s) for the submission victory.

Winner: Michael Faith

Johnny Holiday comes to the ring and he says that tonight, Kong will have to wrestle in an MWF Extreme Death Match. He calls Kong out and Kong comes out with one of the ladies of Michael Barry. No, she’s not coming with Kong willingly, he has her draped over her shoulder and he’s spanking her repeatedly as he carries her to ringside. Before Kong gets in the ring, he lets go of her and she goes to the back. Kong got tired of listening to Johnny, and so Kong broke a lightbulb over Johnny’s head! There’s a heel commentator that said "Do they have a hospital in this very large trailer park?" Calling Pittsburg, Kansas a trailer park, what is he thinking?

Match #3: Michael Barry vs. Dusty Wolfe

"Mr. Saturday Night" Michael Barry is accompanied to the ring by Thomas Thorn, Sunday Nite Special, Miss Thursday Night and Miss Friday Night. Michael Barry weighs 230 pounds. Dusty Wolfe is from San Antonio, Texas. He used to be in The WWF, WCW, WWC, various territories and he (and I) write for Kayfabe Memories. Michael Barry is wearing a "Missouri Southern" T-shirt so you KNOW he’s a heel! Dusty Wolfe with a hammerlock and he gets Michael on the mat and Dusty with a series of kneedrops on Michael’s arm. They get back up and Dusty is backed into the corner. Irish Whip by Michael Barry that sends Dusty Wolfe into the opposite corner. Michael comes running in, but Dusty gets his knees up. Dusty with a clothesline and Michael Barry goes outside. There’s a pair of Brass Knuckles, but I don’t know if Michael Barry, Thomas Moore or if one of the ladies has them. The Referee checked the girls and Michael Barry but he can’t find it. Dusty and Michael locked up and Michael used the brass knuckles and he tossed them to Thomas Moore. Michael Barry with a headbutt into Dusty’s stomach. Michael Barry with a figure four and he used the ropes for leverage for a little bit. One of the girls came over there and she and Michael locked hands and he used her for leverage. He’s working over Dusty’s knee and I do believe that Dusty used an eyerake. Michael goes for the pin and only got a two count, and he goes for another pin and gets another count of two. Dusty is up but his knee gave out. Michael Barry with a single leg Boston Crab. Michael Barry with an STF on Dusty Wolfe. Michael Barry has a strap or a belt. Dusty Wolfe with an eyerake, a series of punches and a headbutt. Dusty with a few more punches. Dusty rammed Michael’s head into a turnbuckle. With Michael Barry in the corner, Dusty climbs to the second rope and starts punching while the fans count, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. One of the girls handed Michael Barry the knuckles (they’re heavily taped, I think they’re brass knuckles). Dusty with a roll up and Michael Barry slips the Brass knuckles into Dusty’s kneepad. The Referee counts three. Dusty Wolfe pinned Michael Barry! The Referee saw the brass knuckles and reversed the decision!

A female fan has taken off her shoe and she’s threatening to hit Michael Barry, one of the girls AND the Referee! A security guy gets her to sit back down.

Winner: Michael Barry (by disqualification)

Match #4: Extreme Death Match: Hoss vs. Kong

Hoss is from Dodge City, and Kong is from Philly and he weighs 230 pounds. Hoss wants the microphone, he tells Kong that Hoss has a new friend that makes him feel special and helped him with his self esteem. Out comes a dude with a gothic thing going for him. He is Seven and he’s going to fight Kong.

Match #4: Extreme Death Match: Seven vs. Kong

Seven is wearing a t-shirt that says "Sam Hain", there’s a pro wrestler in the Upper Midwest named Sam Hayne with a "Satanic" gimmick going for him. What/Who is "Sam Hain?"

Anyway, Dusty Wolfe is sitting in a chair near the dressing room and Doink The Clown also comes out of the locker room to see this match. Seven with several shoulderblocks followed by an Irish Whip on Kong. Kong comes off of the ropes with a clothesline. Kong with a hiptoss on Seven and again. Seven hit Kong with a cookie sheet. Seven has a sack full of thumbtacks. There must be a few hundred, because he scattered them on the floor all the way around ringside (I ended up with four of them, two that I meant to take home and two that got stuck in my shoe!). Seven chokes Kong on the ropes. Seven with a clothesline on Kong. Kong is in the corner and Seven with a few punches. Seven throws Kong out of the ring and Kong is in the tacks. Seven rammed Kong into The Ring Post (dot.com). Seven is actually sticking thumbtacks INTO HIS OWN BODY!. Kong whacked Seven with a shovel! Seven has a few thumbtacks in his arm, some of which he put there himself. Kong reached under the ringside table and he pulled out a USED TAMPON and he rubbed it on his face. Holy shit! Holy shit! Seven kicked Kong in the throat. Seven hit Kong with a cookie sheet and a can of Mountain Dew. Seven grabbed a Viking Helmet from one of the Ratz Nezt and he hit Kong with it. Seven gets one of the huge barb wire boards and he leaned it against the ring. Seven with an Irish Whip on Kong that sends Kong into the barb wire boards. The heel commentator said that Kong "is sitting and crying" and Kong took a swing at him. They set up another barb wire board on the other side of the ring and Seven goes into it and it lands on some of the fans. Seven is busted open! Kong is laughing at Seven. The heel commentator said that "Kong must’ve went to Pittsburg State because he’s not very smart!" They brawled to a corner of the building and Kong went through 5 lighttubes but I didn’t see it. Kong is flipping off Seven, Seven has a chair. Seven sets up the chair and another one and he lays the barb wire board on the two chairs to make a table. Kong is in the ring and Seven is on the apron. Kong charged at Seven knocking Seven onto the barbwire board! Big Hoss hit the ring and he gave Kong a piledriver! Hoss with a powerslam and he got a two count, Kong got his foot on the rope. Kong is sitting on the top rope and Hoss brought him to the mat with a "Diamond Death Drop/Razor’s Edge." Hoss climbed to the top rope and he missed a moonsault! Seven hit some kind of suplex on Kong and Hoss got the pin!

Winner: Hoss

"Mr. Saturday Night" Michael Barry, Johnny Holiday and the girls come to the ring (the girls can stay for all I care! (-: ). Michael Faith, Michael Barry and Big Hoss have all advanced into the next round of the MWF Kansas Heavyweight Tournament. (Krow’s match was for the ongoing Cruiserweight Tournament). "The Space Cowboy" Jason Jones does a coin toss and Big Hoss receives a bye. Michael Barry will face Michael Faith later on and the winner will take on Big Hoss in the finals and then the winner will be MWF Kansas Champion.

Match #5: "Handsome" Brandon Tripod vs. Da Playboy

"Handsome" Brandon Tripod on his way to ring, he faked giving a few fans a high-five. From Los Angeles, weighing 185 pounds, Da Playboy. This match is also part of the ongoing cruiserweight champion. Brandon is one half of the Cruiserweight tag team champions. Tripod and Da Playboy used to be the cruiserweight tag team champions, they were known as "The Playaz Club".

"Handsome" Brandon Tripod goes to the corner and raises his hands, the crowd boos except for me. (Hey, he was a face when he was here in August). Da Playboy goes to the corner and raises his hands and we all cheer. Tripod goes up again and I clap, and Da Playboy goes up again and as everyone cheers, Tripod gives him a forearm. Playboy recovers and works on Tripod’s arm. Da Playboy with a hammerlock that Tripod reverses. Tripod first with a legscissors and then a headlock. Da Playboy with an Irish Whip, and Tripod off the ropes with a shoulderblock. Tripod out of the ring for a time out. Tripod back in the ring with a kneelift and a vertical suplex. Da Playboy with a schoolboy for a two count. The heel ring announcer says that Brandon Tripod “has two things you people will never have, talent and charisma. Tripod with a vertical suplex and a piledriver for a two count. Hurracarana, bodyslam and legdrop by Playboy, he goes for the pin and gets a two count. Playboy off the ropes and he does a flip into a legdrop for a two count. The heel commentator says "How can Brandon Tripod be trailer trash, he’s not from Pittsburg, Kansas." Danny Doring hit the ring and attacked Da Playboy when the Referee’s back was turned. Tripod got the pin.

Winner: "Handsome" Brandon Tripod

Danny Doring and Brandon Tripod are in the ring and Doring has the mic. Danny Doring said that "the dude with the antlers looks like Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer." Doring also said that K-Kwik sucks. The fans are chanting "What", and Doring stops talking. Doring says "Steve Austin isn’t here, we don’t wanna hear the what thing." K-Kwik comes out and Doring is offended that K-Kwik comes out to interrupt his promo. K-Kwik comes to the ring but Doring and Tripod leaves the ring. Doring is trying to enter the ring, but he teases the fans a few times. K-Kwik lies down and strikes a few poses. Doring gets on the apron and is about to enter the ropes, but he jumps down and Tripod and Doring leave.

Match #6: Michael Barry vs. Michael Faith

"Mr. Saturday Night" Michael Barry is out with the ladies (Yay!). Michael Faith is out too. Big Daddy Dominator is out for commentary. Michael Barry throws his shirt to the commentator. Michael Faith grabs the shirt and mocks wiping his butt with it. The Referee frisks Michael Faith, Michael Faith frisks the Referee. Thomas Moore gives Mr. Saturday Night a steel chair and Mr. Saturday Nights sits in the chair while Faith and The Ref are doing their frisking. Big Hoss is out for commentary as well, Hoss will take on the winner immediately after this match. Faith and Barry lock up and Michael Faith with a hiptoss. Michael Faith with an Irish Whip and a flying fist. Faith with an overhead belly to belly suplex on Barry. The crowd chants "Kill The Fairy." Michael Barry with an Irish Whip and an elbowsmash on Michael Faith. Michael Barry with a Hotshot on Michael Faith. One of the girls hit Michael Faith. She was going to hit him again but Faith grabbed her. Mr. Saturday Night with a dropkick that hit Michael Faith while he was outside. Michael Barry is choking Michael Faith with a strap. Barry with a Stinger Splash on Faith. Faith with punches, an Irish Whip and a spinning kick. Michael Barry has the brass knuckles again, Barry hit Faith. Double underhook DDT by Barry. Barry spit on one of The Ratz Nezt. (I didn’t write it down when it happened, but Michael Barry also gave a wicked forearm shot to one of The Ratz Nezt when his back was turned, I don’t know for sure which match it happened in) "The Next Legend" Logan Moore comes to ringside with a steel chair and he chases off Barry, Thomas Moore and the girls. They all run to the dressing room and the Referee counts out Michael Barry before he can get back to the ring.

Winner: Michael Faith

Match #7: MWF Kansas Champion Finals: Michael Faith vs. Big Hoss

Big Hoss with a powerslam. Michael Faith with a superkick and a splash for a two count. Hoss with a few kicks. Hoss with a splash and a DDT. Hoss climbs to the top rope, but he missed a moonsault. Michael Faith with his "Goodnight Monroe" submission for the win.

Winner and FIRST MWF Kansas Champion: Michael Faith

The heel commentator said that he’s studying all kinds of holds and moves and that finisher looks "like a Goddamned chokehold." Michael Faith grabs the commentator by his tie and Faith gets the mic and says, "That’s not a Goddamned chokehold, THIS is a Goddamned chokehold." Faith proceeds to choke the commentator.

Main Event: Match #8: Danny Doring vs. K-Kwik

From Joplin Missouri, Danny Doring. Doring is accompanied by "Handsome" Brandon Tripod. From Charlotte, North Carolina, K-Kwik.

The fans give Doring a chant of "Poor Man’s Bret Hart *clap clap, clap clap clap*." Doring says something like "I might be a poor man’s Bret Hart, but you’re just a poor man." The fans with a "You suck" chant. Doring says "If you say "You suck" one more time, I’ll leave." They chant "You suck" and Doring and Tripod are leaving. K-Kwik is in the ring and he says "You and I are supposed to wrestle, not you and him!" Doring gets in the ring and they go to lock up, but Doring fakes to one side and leaves the ring. Doing gets back in the ring and Doring with punches and an Irish Whip. Doring off the ropes and he gets a hiptoss by K-Kwik. Doring leaves the ring again. The fans chant "What" and K-Kwik chants "What" along with us. (Why are we chanting "What" when Doring and Tripod aren’t talking?). Doring gets the mic and says he wants to use the first of his time out’s to challenge K-Kwik to a "Rap-off." Doring puts on a Danny Doring T-shirt backwards and he puts on a hat sideways and he does a rap. The sound man gives him the beat. K-Kwik says he doesn’t need music and K-Kwik with a rap. Doring charges at K-Kwik and Kwik with a hiptoss. Irish Whip by K-Kwik and K-Kwik is trying for a scissors kick but Doring is able to leave the ring. Doring wants to use the second of his time out’s for a "Dance Off." Danny Doring and Brandon Tripod are in the ring doing the Dastardly Shuffle! K-Kwik goes to dance, but Doring caught him with a wicked neckbreaker type thing. K-Kwik’s neck is on the ropes and Doring is sitting on Kwik. Doring with punches and he chokes K-Kwik on the second rope. Tripod with a choke on Kwik. Doring with a vertical suplex on K-Kwik. Doring climbs to the top rope and he missed the legdrop! Kwik with punches, Doring with a swing that missed K-Kwik. K-Kwik with a kick on Doring. I think Doring is trying for a Pedigree, but K-Kwik turned it into a backdrop. K-Kwik with a Hat Rack Crack on Doring for the win. After the match, K-Kwik hits Tripod with a Hat Rack Crack as well.

Winner: K-Kwik

Wow, that was a GREAT show. The MWF are in Joplin Missouri this Friday. They will be back here in September and November. (I’m hoping that MAYBE they can be here before September!). Logan Moore showed why he is indeed "The Next Legend" and Krow impressed me a lot. I guess if you want to start the show off right, have TNL in the first match. (-: Seven and Kong had a great hardcore match, Tripod and Playboy had a great match, it was a really great show top to bottom. After the show, I showed the Space Cowboy some pictures that I took of him in 1999 at The WWA show, and he was freaking out and calling people to check them out. Danny Doring told me in the afternoon that the stores didn’t carry Rampage Magazine in his area, so I bought him the latest issue of Rampage since there’s a poster of him in it and I gave it to him at the show. I went home with several autographs, a Krow keychain and a Danny Doring T-shirt.
