[Interview conducted by Tony D. on April 2, 2000]
TD: What's your real name, and what gimmicks have/do you use?
MM: In my former life I was known as Murray Cairns, now I am the viscious
Moondog Manson. I have also been known as Orderly Manson,
Moondog Mysterio jr., Hollywood Moondog, El Fuego Grande and a few
others. But every one always knew it was me that was part of the joke.
TD: What height/weight are you?
MM: I stand 5'9" amd weigh 290lbs.....one day I wll learn to boost my
height and weight up.
TD: What circuits do you currently wrestle in?
MM: I work the westcoast, Mostly in Oregon and BC, though I work in
Washington and California a bit.
TD: What circuits have you wrestled in?
MM: I have worked further out east in Canada.
TD: What titles have you held?
MM: NWA/ECCW Tag titles 2 or 3 times
NWA/ECCW Hardcore title
Mostly I am the main event jobber against the champs
TD: When did you decide to become a wrestler?
MM: I always was going to do it as long as I can remember.
TD: And how did you get started?
MM: About three years ago I found out one of the ECCW promoters trained
guys and I got him to train me.
TD: Who has been the biggest influence on your career?
MM: As to date guys like Foley and Onita, though the way my party life
is going Jake Roberts might be in there soon...LOL
TD: What has been the greatest moment of your career?
MM: I worked a match on time in front of maybe at the most 120 people,
I went almost 30 minutes of Hardcore, but it wasn't like the way they
do it in North America...it flowed like in Japan and the fans responded
like Japanese fans do. I honestly didn't want to take the match home
yet....we could of probably gone another 15 they loved it so much.
Everything was used in it...Barbwire, thumbtacks, ladders, chairs,
chains, bats....you name it.
TD: Who are/were you trained by? What kind of athletic background do you
have before you became a wrestler?
MM: I was trained by Gorgeous Michelle Starr. As for my atletic training,
I played asome community footbal and was a world class powerlifter
before I blew my shoulder out.
TD: Who is your favorite wrestler to work with in the ring?
MM: I honestly don't know I like so many of the workers I have worked
TD: Any major enemies? If so, who, and why?
MM: Yes and no comment
TD: In Which promotion are you the most over?
MM: Well in Canada I would say it would be ECCW and elsewhere I know in
Portland Oregon I am over huge and I only wrestled there once and
bled and did every thing the commission hates
TD: Do you ever consider working in the WWF, WCW or ECW if they are
interested in your talent?
MM: I just don't care I just want to wrestle but Asia may be the
place for me.
TD: If you had to pick WWF, WCW or ECW, where would you go and why?
MM: WWF because I know it will pay the bills
TD: Do you have a computer? If so, what do you think of the reporters and
sheet writers on the internet?
MM: I ignore them all never check out the inside scoops....I hate knowing
what is going on in the wrestling world...this way if you see me do
something that was just on TV I actually thought of it myself no
copying any more like the rest of the marks in the business do. I do
website designs so I do have my own computer and am online a ton when
I am in town.
TD: Do you have a college degree or any other higher education?
MM: Nope and don't care for it.
TD: Any advice you'd give a wannabe wrestler?
MM: Don't bleed or wrestle hardcore if ya can't wrestle yet, you're only
kidding yourself and you aren't as over with the fans as you think.
TD: Any final comments for the readers?
MM: Yeah I wish I wasn't so hung over right now.
