[Interview conducted by Tony D. on May 11, 2000]
TD: What's your real name, and what gimmicks have/do you use?
LL: My real name is Rafael. I have used the same gimmick for 7 years now.
It's hard to describe the gimmick. But, I look like I stepped off the
Poison tour bus in the 80's.
TD: What height/weight are you?
LL: 5ft 11inches and I weight 337lbs
TD: What circuits do you currently wrestle in?
LL: I am currently wrestling with the following feds:
New Mellineum Wrestling (NJ) , Ultimate Championship Wrestling (VA),
Virginia Wrestling Federation (VA), Empire Wrestling Association (VA).
TD: What circuits have you wrestled in?
LL: past feds; Atlantic Coast Championship Wrestling (NC),
Dominion wrestling Association (VA) Southern Wrestling Association (VA)
and a few others as well.
TD: What titles have you held?
LL: U.C.W. (VA) - 5 time tag team champion (4 times with MR. Big Stuff,
one time with Lord Everret DeVore)
Heavyweight Champion.
A.C.C.W. (NC) - U.S. Champion, Heavyweight Champion.
D.W.A. (VA) - Tag Team Champion (with the Brittish Assassin)
E.W.A. (VA) - East Coast Champion.
N.MW. (NJ) - 2 time tag team champion (With Lord Everret DeVore).
TD: When did you decide to become a wrestler?
LL: I have been a wrestling fan since I was 4 years old. But I never
thought about becoming a wrestling until I was in High school.
A friend of mine was in training and I decided to ask him to
introduce me to his trainer. After I graduated the trainer
called me and told me to show up at training. The drive was about
a 2.5 hours long. But, I faithfuly drove for months until I found
closer place to train. Teh first days of training were hell. Everyone
that was a veteran kicked my butt for hours. It was open season
for the new guy. In all truth, I wouldn't of had it anyother way.
TD: And how did you get started?
LL: Guess I kinda answered that one on the prior question. I tend to ramble;)
TD: Who has been the biggest influence on your career?
LL: There was one wrestlwer that I always studied his matches and kind of
looked up to. Bret Hart was that wrestler. I liked watching the
mechanics of his moves and how fluent he was in the ring.
TD: What has been the greatest moment of your career?
LL: One of the best moments was when I first wrestled a star for the very
first time. I was nervous as hell and didn't want him to think I was
some jerkoff that just came off of the street. I believe the match
went well, At least I hope he thought so..
TD: Who are/were you trained by? What kind of athletic background do you
have before you became a wrestler?
LL: I was trained by Lord Everret DeVore. He was the one that called me
after I graduated. But, a few other people took a hand at teaching me
various things as well. The only things I did in my school years as
far as athletics is concerned was: football and volleyball.
TD: Who is your favorite wrestler to work with in the ring?
LL: One of my very favorite guys that I got to wresle was a guy called
"Projecto Uno". He was a very good guy to wor with and a professional.
unfortunately he is out of the wrestling business, due to some bad back
injuries. I always looked foward working with him.
TD: Any major enemies? If so, who, and why?
LL: I don't think I have many enemies. But, unfortunately there will always
be people who hate you for no reason. I always try to be a good person
to whomever I met.
TD: In which promotion are you the most over?
LL: I don't know for sure, to tell you the truth. but I believe that i am
pretty over in U.C.W. (VA)
TD: Do you ever consider working in the WWF or in WCW if they are
interested in your talent?
LL: Sure, I'd wrestle for anyone that is interested in having me . As long
as they are fair to me I will always give them a 100% performance.
TD: If you had to pick WWF, WCW or ECW, where would you go and why?
LL: That's hard to say due that I don't know what it is to work for any of
them. I would be scared to get lost in the shuffle in any of them.
But, I'd work for any of them just for the experience.
TD: Do you have a computer? If so, what do you think of the reporters and
sheet writers on the internet?
LL: Yes, I do have a computer. I have seen a few good sites that actually
try to report truths. But, sometimes it's hard to see what's true
and what's not. Some just take news from one site and just copy it to
their own.
TD: Do you have a college degree or any other higher education?
LL: No, I do not have a college degree. But I am going to attend classes
in the near future.
TD: Any advice you'd give a wannabe wrestler?
LL: Finish school and learn something.
TD: Any final comments for the readers?
LL: E-mail me anytime. I personally answer all my e-mail and thank you
for the interview.
